China defeated North Korea 98-62 to reach a 2-0 record in the Asian Games preliminary round. Wang ZhiZhi (214-C-79) had 14 points and Ding Jinhui and Zhang Qingpeng each scored 12. Zhou Peng had 11 and Zhang Zhaoxu and Zhu Fangyu each scored 10. Li Xiaoxu had 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Pak Un Chol scored 19 for North Korea.

Tang Zhengdong did not play but all others on the roster had at least 10 minutes of playing time. Zhang Bo played 27 minutes at point guard to 11 for Liu Wei and recorded 5 assists to none for Liu. Zhang had no turnovers.

In other games Japan upset Iran 57-56.
