The Draw of the FIBA – Asia Championship was held today in Tian Jin City in China, the 16 teams were divided into 4 groups as follows:
A: S. Korea, Japan, Philippines, Sri Lanka
B: Iran, Chinese Taipei, Kuwait, Uzbekistan
C: Kazakhstan, Qatar, India, China
D: Lebanon, Jordan Indonesia, UAE
The Lebanese National Team is in Serbia for a training camp till June 24th, 2009, in which the team will create the needed chemistry for this summer.
The Lebanese National Team will be in Doha from July 01st to the 05th for an international tournament with Qatar, Nigeria, and Iran.
After Doha Lebanon will be in Taipei for the Jones Cup, Lebanon will play 9 games 9in this prestigious tournament.
Manila will be the last stop for the Lebanese National Team before the Asian Championship in China; Lebanon will undergo a training camp for 8 days.
The Lebanese Basketball fans are highly expecting to have Lebanon back to the world championship for the 3rd consecutive time for this reason the Lebanese Basketball Federation draw a big preparation plan in order to achieve this big Target.
Lebanon had a big World Championship in 2006, Lebanon had beaten France and Venezuela foe the first time ever in the history of the Lebanese Basketball
